PERFORMANCE

Chevrolet developed a 4-cylinder, 1.8 liter gasoline engine and 2.0 liter diesel engine. The gasoline engine's Dual Overhead Camshaft and Double Continuous Variable Cam Phasing - Variable Valve Timing combine performance and practicality churning out 141 hp and 176 Nm of grunt while the diesel employs up to 150 hp and 320 Nm of torque, a Turbocharger, an Intercooler and Commonrail Direct Injection for instantaneous response and fuel efficiency. Environmental Friendliness is also at the forefront Chevrolet's considerations through the fuel economy it provides. The Cruze effortlessly combines outstanding performance with comfortable travelling.

The Cruze engines are also designed for people who need their car to be flexible – nimble around town, yet capable of opening up comfortably on the highway. The Cruze is available in both gas and diesel engine. It delivers 138 horsepower and accelerates with authority with a five-speed manual and six-speed automatic with manual override transmission. A universal front sub-frame, carrying the engine and transmission, is bolted in position via four rubber bushings. This 'isolated' mounting helps reduce the transmission of engine vibration and road noise into the cabin and makes for a comfortable and relaxing ride.

The Cruze does not run out of its share of tech and nifty gadgets. GPS Navigation and entertainment systems are standard to all automatic transmission variants and are DVD, CD, MP3 and MPEG4-capable; Bluetooth, AUX-in, USB Port and IPOD connectivity-ready; and can be operated via voice and touch call commands. High-trim variants include automatic trunk control, automatic climate control, reverse parking sensors, 17" inch wheels, traction control, rain-sensing wipers, fog lamps, remote entry and keyless start – most of which can only be found in premium vehicles.
